Tumeric has been used in cooking and as a medicine for centuries in Asian countries and its active ingredient curcumin has been able to kill cancer cells and prevent more from growing. It has been shown that curcumin has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. It is mostly effective for various types of cancer such as breast cancer, bowel cancer, skin cancer and bone cancer. Therefore, tumeric is promoted as an alternative cancer treatment. A new research team developed a drug delivery system using curcumin to inhibit bone cancer cells while promoting the growth of healthy bone cells.
